A to Z Challenge: Cloud from Final Fantasy VII

Happy Monday!

For the A to Z Challenge, I am highlighting characters from my favorite gaming franchise: Final Fantasy. And as today's letter is C, I wouldn't dare talk about any other character than Final Fantasy VII's Cloud Strife.

"ME?"

Yeah, you, Cloud.

A dreamer from Podunk (well, Nibelheim), Cloud wanted to grow up to be big and strong and join SOLDIER, the elite task force created by Shinra Inc. (*ahem* also the same people who mistook an alien for an Ancient, as mentioned Friday). Cloud only made it to, like, gunny sgt. or something before all Hell broke loose and Arcade Sushi's 4th greatest video game villain of all time (Sephiroth) started killing everyone (more on him later).

But Cloud overcame, actually injured Sephiroth to the point where he had to hole up in the planet, and managed to have a slight dip into Multiple Personality Disorder due to mako poisoning (the planet's magic and the reason his eyes are so blue) and most likely PTSD (more on all of that when we get to Z).

Look at the pout.

He's the ultimate underdog and the face that launched a thousand cosplays. If you've heard even a little bit about Final Fantasy, it's probably because of Cloud.

Honorable Mention for C: 

General Celes Chere from Final Fantasy VI. She was badass and beautiful, and that she found love in the end was just so sweet!

A to Z Challenge: Writing Colors - The Beautiful C's

Welcome back to the A to Z Challenge!

This year, I decided to provide different colors for descriptive purposes in writing. I'm using the website Color-ize to look at an alphabetical list of colors that we can use instead of using the same basic colors we know off the top of our heads. One color can come in so many shades, so why not take a look at them? :)

We are still in my Shades of Blue series, and this one is a 3-for-1 deal! Let us sail the beautiful C's. (See what I did there? hehe)

My favorite one to say (but least favorite in my

closet because, you know, ROYGBIV): Cerulean.

My favorite to look at: Cornflower blue. It's just so pretty!

And the one that hurts my eyes but is nearest to my heart because of my WIP, Cyan.

These are three expressive colors that can also depict certain moods in a story. Cyan is one of those beach water colors or sky colors I used to draw with in Paint. It is also the eye color and name of one of the supporting characters in my WIP, The Crystal Bearer, whom I named after a character in Final Fantasy VI.

C is for Candyce and Carrie!



 I don't remember adding this yesterday...If not, I'll just throw it in there.

So even though I put her second, I'll start with my mom, Carrie, also known as Louise when she annoys me. She is a very sweet lady who is easily excited (and stressed) by just about everything. Why we don't have a reality show is beyond me, because this lady alone can entertain with her mood swings, high pitched upset voice, and her ADHD-like symptoms. I got the grammar gene from her; she was an English tutor in college. And the Spanish gene, I suppose; that's what she majored in (because she was too scared to major in Voice)! She is a Med-Surg Bachelors of Science Registered Nurse and Certified Diabetes Educator. There's almost nothing you can't ask her that she won't know the answer to. I just call her an MSNBC, but I think it's really MSRN, BSN, CDE...that looks right. And like Cliff Huxtable, no matter how many times we've left, she's let us return home. Not particularly against her will, because she thinks we're cool kids, lol, but she's also very selfless and never hesitates to give. That's my mommy. =D

Then, there is my cousin Candyce (CanDEEchay when we want to get fancy...and silly), who is the coolest chic there is. Of the three of us (being Andi, her, and me), Candyce might actually be the quiet and shy one, but  once you get to know her, she is crazy. We always laugh. She has a gorgeous voice and loves hair. hehe She's also a great mom, and her son is going to be a prodigy when he gets older. It's almost scary. Anyway, we've grown up together, lived together on occasion, and we're about to live together again! It's going to be a wild house. haha

I don't know what I'd do without these two crazy, classy, and cool ladies!
